Mzwanele Manyi, the spokesperson for the Jacob Zuma Foundation, has announced that he has resigned from the African Transformation Movement (ATM) and joined the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) with immediate effect. In a letter to the secretary of ATM, Manyi stated that he believes his career in politics will be better served by this move.

Manyi explained his decision to join the EFF in an interview, saying that he believes the country needs “shock treatment” right now, and that he thinks the EFF is the organization ready to provide it.

Manyi joined the ATM before the 2019 elections, but before that, he was a member of the African National Congress (ANC) for a long time. He is also known for his close ties to former president Jacob Zuma and the Gupta family, which has been accused of capturing the state.

Despite leaving the ATM, Manyi has stated that his decision to join the EFF is not an indictment on his former party. Rather, he believes that the EFF is the organization that can provide the necessary change and upheaval that South Africa needs right now.

Manyi’s move to the EFF is sure to attract attention, given the party’s growing influence and its reputation for radical policies. While it remains to be seen how Manyi’s decision will affect his political career, it is clear that he believes the EFF is the right organization for him at this time.
