The managing director of the Italian Exhibition Group’s Green and Technology Division, Alessandra Astolfi, said on Wednesday in Rimini, Italy, that Africa is increasingly decisive in energy matters.

Ms. Astolfi told the media that it is necessary to combine efforts to meet the challenge of energy efficiency to help the African continent cope with the effects of climate change.

She noted that energy needs in all sectors will increase significantly, given the expected population growth in Africa by 2035.

She emphasized the importance of green hydrogen from food waste in small African communities to meet Africa’s needs.

She also said that the particularity of this edition is to focus on six sectors, including photovoltaic, solar, and storage technologies.

This edition, which brought together 500 exhibitors, focused on the wind energy, mobility efficiency, smart city, and building industry sectors.
