A Nigerian doctor based in the United Kingdom, Tijion Esho, has faced the revocation of his medical license following allegations of engaging in inappropriate behavior, as reported by the Telegraph.

Dr. Esho, known for his expertise in cosmetic surgery and appearances on popular television programs such as ITV’s This Morning, BBC’s Morning Live, and E4’s Body Fixers, has been embroiled in controversy stemming from allegations of offering free Botox injections in exchange for sexual favors.

During proceedings before the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, Dr. Esho admitted to an improper emotional relationship with a woman identified as Patient A, with whom he exchanged “inappropriate” messages on the social media platform Instagram. Despite denying any physical sexual contact, the tribunal ruled that Dr. Esho engaged in sexual intercourse with Patient A at his clinic in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2021 and provided Botox treatments free of charge.

The tribunal also found instances of inappropriate conduct during consultations, including making inappropriate comments and allowing Patient A to engage in sexual activities.

Consequently, Dr. Esho’s fitness to practice was deemed impaired due to misconduct, leading to the removal of his name from the medical register.

The tribunal highlighted the sexually motivated nature of Dr. Esho’s actions, as evidenced by the content of his messages to Patient A over several years. While the tribunal did not consider Patient A vulnerable due to her profession, the conduct was deemed highly inappropriate and unethical.

Botox injections, commonly used for cosmetic purposes to relax muscles and reduce wrinkles, require regular treatments every three to six months to maintain results.

The tribunal’s decision serves as a stark reminder of the importance of upholding professional standards and ethics within the medical profession, regardless of one’s stature or reputation.
