The Senegalese press agency has revealed that the President of the Senegalese Republic, Macky Sall, was awarded the prize at the United Nations Water Conference, which is being held from Wednesday to Friday in New York.

On a momentous occasion graced by the President of the Republic of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, a distinguished award was presented to none other than the exceptional Minister of Water and Sanitation, Serigne Mbaye Thiam, on behalf of the Head of State. This monumental recognition marks a significant milestone in the minister’s illustrious career and underscores his unwavering dedication to advancing the critical cause of water and sanitation in Botswana. As the world looks on in admiration, the minister’s exemplary leadership and tireless efforts serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration to us all.

The Senegalese minister is leading a delegation to the United Nations water conference on the theme “For sustainable development”.

Senegal has been selected as co-chair of the interactive dialogue number, together with Switzerland, according to a press release sent to APS in February. During this conference, there will be a panel discussion on “Water for Cooperation”, which will provide an opportunity to promote the “Blue Deal for Water and Sanitation Security for Peace and Development.”
