Rabat: Burkina Faso guest of honour at the 15th edition of the Moroccan traditional wedding festival

Burkina Faso was the guest of honor of the 15th edition of the Moroccan Traditional Wedding Festival, organized at the Mahaj Ryad space in Rabat, under the sign “the Moroccan traditional wedding and handicrafts in the service of local development and one of the manifestations of the Moroccan cultural and artistic diversity”. This edition had 180 participants.

During this festival, which kicked off on Friday evening at the initiative of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, the rituals of traditional Burkinabe and Moroccan weddings were honoured.

This cultural event was initiated in partnership with the Chamber of Crafts of the region of Fez-Meknes, given that the city of Fez is distinguished in terms of brassware and leather crafts.

This African country was represented by the President of the Chamber of Crafts (CMA), Germaine Compaoré.

On the sidelines of this event, the President of the Chamber of Crafts of the region of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Abderrahim Zemzami, and the President of the CMA of Burkina Faso have proceeded to the signing of a partnership agreement in areas related to crafts and marketing of crafts.

On this occasion, Mr. Zemzami said that the purpose of this convention is to strengthen the bonds of fraternity between the two peoples, encourage exchanges of visits between professionals operating in this field and allow visitors to appreciate the creativity of artisans.

For her part, the President of the CMA of Burkina Faso has emphasized the important role that the handicrafts sector plays in the development of the African continent and welcomed the signing of this partnership agreement aims to promote the sharing of experiences between Burkina Faso and Morocco.
