Mali – the police station in the second district of Ségou was attacked on March 15, 2023, by “terrorists”, according to the Malian army.
The Ségou region in Mali has become a recurrent target for the Katiba Macina of JNIM, the Support Group for Islam and Muslims, an organization affiliated with al-Qaeda.
However, the recent attack on a police station located in the city of Ségou marks the first of its kind.
The official assessment of the incident reveals that two police officers suffered injuries, while material damage was inflicted upon the station. Fortunately, one assailant has been successfully apprehended in connection with the attack.
