First African Macroeconomic Performance and Prospects (AfDB) report to be launched on in Ethiopia

The first African Macroeconomic Performance and Prospects report will be presented on 17 February at the 36th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa by the African Development Bank and the African Union Commission (AU) in a joint event.

According to an AfDB release, the report will be presented in the presence of the Zambian President, African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat, and the African Development Bank Group President.

The report will provide updated assessments of the continent’s recent macroeconomic performance for the benefit of international investors, development partners, and researchers.

The report, entitled “Africa’s Macroeconomic Performance and Prospects 2023” was launched on 19 January at the African Development Bank Group headquarters in Abidjan.

According to the same statement, the report is optimistic about Africa’s performance in 2023 and 2024, despite the unstable global environment.

The findings of the report will be shared with various stakeholders, both at the international and African levels.
