Cameroon is classified as the 142nd out of 180 countries in the 2022 Barometer of Transparency International’s Global Corruption Perceptions Index.

According to the President of the Cameroonian section of the NGO, the lawyer Henri Njoh Manga Bell, the exemplary strategy implemented in his country “has not stopped this pandemic”.

Each year, Transparency International publishes its Global Corruption Perceptions Index report. The 2022 report was published on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. A barometer where Cameroon remains stable, in 142nd place in the ranking, out of 180 countries.

Lawyer Henri Njoh Manga Bell, president of the Cameroon branch of Transparency International, speaks of corruption as an epidemic in Cameroon. An epidemic that the conflicts in the North-West, the South-East, and the Far North help to explain, but not only.

According to Henri Njoh Manga Bell, the strategy of setting an example, with the condemnation of members of the government, was not enough.
