Nigerian authorities announced that 20 people, including kids, were killed in two separate road accidents involving trucks in southern Nigeria, and many of the victims were burned to the point of being unrecognizable.

In a statement, the state emergency response agency said the accident occurred in Lagos, where a truck carrying a heavy container collided with a bus on a bridge in the Ojuelegba area of the city.

Investigations revealed that the truck lost control and fell on the side of the bridge, landing on the bus which was picking up passengers. The same statement added that only one woman survived, while nine passengers died in the accident.

Due to the weight of the container, no passenger was able to get out of the bus until the authorities arrived with rescue tools.
Earlier on Sunday, Nigeria’s road safety agency said another truck collided with a bus near Lagos, killing all passengers on board.
