Francis Romain Wodié, an eminent professor of law, defender of human rights, and eternal opponent succumbed to a long illness at the age of 87. He had been the president of the Ivorian Constitutional Court in the 2010s.

Professor Albert Dago Dadié, “was the prototype of the jurist who held to his principles, and did not back down when the principles were flouted. It hasn’t always brought him luck”. This former political comrade of Francis Romain Wodié, with whom he had founded the Workers’ Party of Ivory Coast, “keeps the image of a democrat, a defender of human rights because he was the first president of Amnesty International Ivory Coast”.
