The third China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo opened its doors in Changsha on Thursday, under the theme “Common Development for a Shared Future”, with the participation of representatives from 53 African countries and numerous international organizations.

This 4-day event aims to invite more “made in Africa” products to enter China and to strengthen trade links between the two parties.

With a total of 1,500 exhibitors, a myriad of African products, from Kenyan roses to Egyptian petrol, will be on show, with traders using the exhibition to explore the vast Chinese market.

On Thursday, the expo will host a forum on sanitary and phytosanitary cooperation to facilitate African exports of agri-food products to China. For the first time, the expo will also hold forums and seminars on cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine, dialogue between women, and vocational training.

The guest countries of honor at the expo are Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Malawi, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Zambia.

China launched the expo in 2019 to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between China and African countries.
