Silvio Berlusconi’s Long Political Career Comes to an End

Italian media said today, Monday, that former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has died at the age of 86.

It is noteworthy that after Berlusconi entered the hospital in early April, as a result of pneumonia, it became clear that the politician suffered from leukemia, and underwent chemotherapy, then placed Berlusconi in the “San Raffaele” clinic in Milan for more than a month, and was hospitalized again on June 9th.

The Italian news agency “La Presse” announced Berlusconi’s death after he was hospitalized on Friday for the second time in months to receive treatment for chronic leukemia.

His doctor, Alberto Zangrillo, said Berlusconi was hospitalized in Milan on April 5th with a lung infection that resulted from his illness. As well as suffering from heart disease and prostate cancer for years, he was hospitalized in 2020 as a result of Covid.

Berlusconi made use of his television networks and vast wealth in his long political career, arousing the admiration and hatred of many.
