The 10th ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition Against Daesh, held on Thursday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and attended by its 86 members, adopted a statement reaffirming its determination to counter malicious, separatist, and non-state military actors that undermine counter-terrorism cooperation and destabilize regional security.

This determination thus consolidates the Coalition’s position adopted at the last ministerial meeting of the Coalition held in Marrakech in May 2022, as well as the plenary meeting of the Africa Focus Group held on 1st and 2nd March 2023 in Niamey.

It should be recalled that the 9th Ministerial Meeting of the Coalition, held on 11th May 2022 in Marrakech, underlined the concern of Coalition members about the proliferation of separatist movements in Africa, which are leading to destabilization and increased vulnerability of African States, and which ultimately favor Daech and other terrorist and violent extremist organizations.
