The First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, praised the leadership of King Mohammed VI in empowering women and youth.

In a statement released by the White House, Sunday, in Washington, Mrs. Biden said that Morocco is working, “under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, to encourage reforms aimed at empowering women and youth, which embodies our common priorities”.

Jill Biden expressed the United States gratitude for its long-standing partnership and friendship with Morocco.

The First Lady of the United States also commended the “good reception” accorded to her by Princess Lalla Hasnaa upon her arrival in Marrakech on Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. Biden added that Princess Lalla Hasnaa briefed her on the work she is doing to educate children and young people about the importance of protecting the environment, noting that the princess’s passion was a source of inspiration for her. “I would like to share her story upon my return to the United States, as part of the targeted efforts,” she said.

The First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, was accompanied during this visit by her daughter, Ashley Biden, and her sister, Bobby Jacobs.

The visit of the First Lady of the United States to Morocco is part of a tour in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe, to promote the improvement of the conditions of women and youth around the world, especially in education, health, and empowerment.

The visit of the First Lady of the United States to Morocco is the second after her first visit In 2014, accompanied by President Joe Biden, who was then Vice President under the Obama administration, during his participation in the Fifth Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which was held in Marrakech in November.
