In a surprising turn of events during President Yoweri Museveni’s visit to Greater Masaka, on Wednesday Presidential advisor on Kampala Affairs, Catherine Kusasira, found herself in a humiliating situation as she expressed her frustration about not being able to meet with the President. Despite her appointment as a presidential advisor, Kusasira voiced her grievances during an opportunity to convey her message to Museveni.

While acknowledging Museveni for his support and expressing gratitude for her appointment, Kusasira, who claimed to have generated employment for over 30,000 youths, expressed her disappointment at being denied access to the President. She emphasized her role as a presidential advisor and the inability to reach Museveni directly, despite her accomplishments.

In response, Museveni interrupted Kusasira’s speech and assured her that he would arrange a meeting with her in mid-June. However, Kusasira appeared unsatisfied and continued to express her grievances, much to Museveni’s annoyance.

In an attempt to redirect the focus, Museveni humorously mentioned that Kusasira was well-off and should allow the less privileged to speak. This prompted the organizers to cut short Kusasira’s speech and take away the microphone.

Meanwhile, Museveni made a promise to the public, announcing the introduction of a toll-free number to the State House, where people could register their complaints, particularly related to corruption. He assured that the number would be broadcasted on all radio stations, providing a platform for citizens to voice their concerns.

This incident sheds light on Catherine Kusasira’s unfortunate experience and highlights the significance of accessibility and effective communication channels between officials and advisors within the government structure.
