Ambassador Mohamed Arrouchi, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the AU and UNECA, reaffirmed on Thursday in Addis Ababa during a meeting of the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU), Morocco’s condemnation of any exploitation of refugees and the enlistment of children from refugee camps into armed militias.
Thus, Mr. Arrouchi stressed that the registration and documentation of refugees is a fundamental tool to guarantee their protection.
In this context, Mr. Arrouchi insisted on the need to protect this vulnerable category from any exploitation by certain parties who claim to assist refugees, but who rather use them to serve their own interests and malicious agendas, and even divert the humanitarian aid intended for them.
