Senegal: Dakhla Oued Eddahhab Region Holds An “Economic Tour” in Dakar

The region of Dakhla Oued Eddahhab organized, on Monday afternoon in the Senegalese capital Dakar, a two-day “economic tour”, under the theme “The potentialities of Dakhla Oued Eddahhab”, in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Moroccan Embassy in Senegal.

The launching ceremony of this event was chaired by the President of the Dakhla Oued Eddahab Region, Khettat Yenja, and HM the King’s Ambassador to Senegal, Hassan Naciri, in the presence of officials from the Senegalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese abroad, ambassadors of African and Arab countries accredited to Senegal, as well as an important delegation from the Dakhla Oued Eddahhab region.

Intervening during the said ceremony, Mr. Yenja stressed that this meeting aims at promoting the common tangible and intangible heritage between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Senegal while strengthening South-South cooperation.

This event attests to the special interest that the Kingdom of Morocco and in particular the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Region has for the Republic of Senegal, the president of the region said, adding that the relationship between the two countries is a typical example of a South-South cooperation based on the win-win principle.

On the sidelines of this economic tour, several activities are scheduled, including sectoral panels, BtoB meetings, and working visits.

The Regional Council of Dakhla Oued Eddahhab had stressed, in a statement, that this tour initiated by the royal vision has as its main mission to promote the region of Dakhla Oued Eddahhab and to highlight, at the international level, an emerging Morocco; an economically resilient Morocco.

After Dakar, the region of Dakhla Oued Eddahhab is planning an economic tour in the city of Abidjan, in Ivory Coast, from 18 to 20 May.
