The Kenyan President, William Ruto, will travel to Israel on Tuesday for a two-day visit, where he will meet with Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu, following his invitation, according to a statement from the Kenyan presidency.

During this visit, several topics are on the agenda, led by agriculture, as Kenya suffers from drought and is therefore particularly interested in the methods of irrigation and production in drylands that Israel has developed.

The two sides will also discuss defense cooperation. Indeed, Israel is already training the Kenyan security forces on aspects related to the fight against terrorism or cyber security.

Thus, the Kenyan president will have the mission to promote investments in Kenya by meeting Israeli businessmen and heads of companies.

It should be noted that relations between the two countries go back a considerable way and this is not the first high-level meeting between the two countries. Benyamin Netanyahu had already visited Kenya in 2017 to meet with then-President Uhuru Kenyatta.
