Daffallah Alhaj, special envoy of Sudanese General Abdel Fattah al Burhan is visiting Ethiopia against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict which started on 15th April.

During his visit, Alhaj met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and African Union President Azali Assoumani.

According to the special envoy, the legal authority is headed by General Burhan, and all authorities, countries, and the media should distinguish it from the “rebels”, referring to General Daglo’s paramilitary group.

Thus, Dafallah Alhaj said that the Sudanese army is ready to “lay down its arms and forgive anyone”. However, “the rebels are still fighting”.

The ongoing violence in Sudan has left 457 civilians dead and more than 2,300 injured, according to the Sudanese Doctors’ Union.
