On Thursday morning, the Central Office of Justice Investigations announced that 13 people believed to be members of the terrorist organization ISIS had been arrested.
The suspects were located in several cities, including Casablanca, Beni Mellal, Mohammedia, Khenifra, Temara, Tiflet, Tangier, Kser El Kbir, Raissani, and Berkane.
Following a search conducted at their residences, law enforcement officers seized various pieces of equipment and digital media that will be subjected to necessary technical expertise. Written publications containing extremist ideology and materials that incite violence and promote suicide operations were also found.
According to preliminary investigation data, some of the suspects were involved in planning sabotage projects aimed at vital and sensitive sites, as well as security personnel and institutions, as part of individual terrorist operations.
