South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Thursday in a meeting with his Namibian counterpart Hage Geingob that South Africa wants to strengthen its cooperation with Namibia in several areas.

South Africa wants to deepen its cooperation with Namibia, especially in energy investment in order to develop the economic growth of both countries.

In this regard, Ramaphosa said that both countries are planning huge hydrogen projects and that the private and public sectors should pool their efforts in the area of energy.

Namibia and South Africa share a common problem of water scarcity and vulnerability to climate change.

To combat this, Ramaphosa has expressed his commitment to pursuing low-carbon, climate-resilient, and inclusive development.
