Burkina Faso: a Curfew Will be Introduced from 7th April to 4th May in the Province of Sanmatenga

The provincial authorities in Burkina Faso have announced that a curfew will be introduced from this Friday in the province of Sanmatenga in the Centre-North region of Burkina Faso, as part of the fight against terrorism.

According to a press release from the high commissioner of the province, the curfew will be established throughout the province, for the period from April 7 to May 4, 2023, inclusive, from 23:00 to 04:00.

Due to the security crisis, nearly two million people were displaced, as of 31 December, according to a statement by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
