In Nigeria, the announcement of the results of the gubernatorial election will continue this Monday, March 20. So far, the Congress of Progressives has won the most regions, and the People’s Democratic Party is lagging in some states. No result favorable to the Labor Party, on the other hand, has yet been announced. Saturday’s elections were marked by violence and irregularities across the country.

In Lagos, the name of the winner was announced overnight. Outgoing governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu officially won this election for the Congress of Progressives – he is therefore back for a second term at the head of the economic capital of more than 20 million inhabitants.

A major victory has been won by the opposition in Kano state, the country’s second most populous region, where Abba Kabir Yusuf of the Nigerian People’s New Party has been elected governor. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of the region who came first during the presidential election, is a very important victory for the NNPP leader.
