Morocco was able to lead the Maghreb rankings in the soft power index, despite its decline in the general ranking by nine places, and it is ranking 55th in the world, out of 121 countries, with 39.2 out of 100 points.

The index relies on the classification of countries, each year, on the international presence, the extent of their reputation and influence at the global level, in addition to the survey that includes more than 100 thousand participants, where Morocco ranked 46 in the world last year.

This classification, issued by the British company “Brand Finance”, was based on several evaluations and sub-indicators, which concern a group of fields, including business and trade, governance, international relations, culture and heritage, media and communication, education and science, people, and values, which Morocco has a good reputation.

Morocco ranked eighth in the Arab world, after the United Arab Emirates, which ranked 10 in the world, Saudi Arabia ranked 19, Qatar ranked 24, Kuwait ranked 35, Egypt ranked 38, Bahrain ranked 50, and Jordan ranked 53rd place.

As for the Maghreb countries, Tunisia ranked 83rd globally, followed by Algeria ranked 86th globally. On the African continent, Morocco ranked third, behind Egypt and South Africa.

It is noteworthy that the “Brand Finance” company relies on these indicators to measure the extent to which each country can influence the preferences and behaviors of various parties on the international scene, through attractiveness or persuasion.
