Six individuals were apprehended by the Royal Gendarmerie in the Arkoub region of southern Dakhla, following the provision of reliable information by the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance.

The suspects were believed to be linked to a criminal syndicate responsible for organizing illegal immigration through sea routes.

Thanks to accurate intelligence information, the Royal Gendarmerie were able to locate the six suspects who were travelling in two separate cars, and they were subsequently arrested at the 25th and 40th kilometer points. Among the items found in their possession were nineteen mobile phones, of which one individual had fifteen, leading to suspicions that they were used to coordinate and organize illegal immigration operations.

The successful operation was carried out in collaboration with the judicial police in Dakhla and the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance.

Additionally, the joint effort resulted in the arrest of 29 individuals from various nationalities, who were attempting irregular migration.

A substantial sum of money amounting to 219,300 dirhams was also confiscated, believed to be the proceeds of their criminal activities.

In order to fully investigate the scope of the case and its potential links to other criminal networks, a judicial investigation has been opened by the relevant security services under the guidance of the Public Prosecution. This operation is part of a broader effort by security services to combat human trafficking and illegal immigration networks.
