Côte d’Ivoire is hosting the first Sino-Ivorian Trade Fair, which opened on Friday under the theme “Sino-Ivorian cooperation in motion”, at the initiative of the Sino-African business firm Guanxi Management and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EAcham).

This event, which is part of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, aims to promote the integration and improvement of economic exchanges between Ivorians and Chinese.

The Economic and Commercial Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Côte d’Ivoire, Mu Siyu, welcomed the initiative, adding that it is a great opportunity for Chinese and Ivorian economic actors to promote partnerships and to expand it to other sectors such as mining, trade, agriculture etc.

For his part, the General Commissioner of the Fair, Randolphe Kichiedou, stressed that the volume of trade between China and Côte d’Ivoire has experienced “an exponential increase, thus placing China as the first supplier and third trading partner of Côte d’Ivoire”.

Besides the Fair, there will be a cultural evening and a free concert, a China-Côte d’Ivoire start-up competition (Sino-Africa Academy) and various social actions.
