The former President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uhuru Kenyatta, called on local and international organizations to provide emergency aid to displaced families inside the country.

Kenyatta called for a humanitarian solution in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) as the facilitator of the Nairobi peace process.

Families in the east of the country live in a difficult situation due to the continuing fighting and targeted attacks.

The statement from Uhuru’s office called for special attention to be paid to the group whose suffering cannot be measured, women, children and the disabled at risk.

Kenyatta thanked the EAC heads of state for their continued support to the peace process in the DRC, And the group’s calls to stop the fighting between the parties in the Kivu conflict zone, in compliance with the Luanda Agreement, which calls for all armed groups to lay down their arms.
