The Burkina Faso Armed Forces said in a statement, that at least 28 people have been killed in attacks by rebel fighters in northern Burkina Faso.
The army revealed that 10 soldiers, two fighters of the volunteer force, and a civilian were killed in the attack in Falagountou.
A separate statement shows that an attack on Sunday killed 15 civilians, in the Cascades near the border with Ivory Coast.
Burkina Faso and its neighbors Mali and Niger are battling armed groups linked to al Qaeda and the Islamic State who have besieged towns and villages in the north of the country.
The armed groups executed hundreds of villagers, displacing nearly two million people and exacerbating a food crisis.
