Professor Eleazar Uche Ikonne’s son announced in a statement the death of his father, the Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, on Wednesday afternoon.
Dr. Uche Ikonne Chikieze said that his father died at the National Hospital Abuja after a brief illness.
Uche Ikonne’s son added that his father didn’t recover from multiple cardiac arrests despite the treatment he was taking in the UK.
He revealed that he will announce more details and arrangements to the public after meetings within the family.
