A truck collided with a Lagos State BRT bus at the Ibafo bus stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway early Saturday morning.
Our correspondent at the scene reported that the accident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Police were present but stated that only their Public Relations Officers were authorized to speak on the matter.
However, eyewitnesses indicated that several passengers on the BRT bus sustained injuries. According to onlookers, the BRT bus was parked and loading passengers when the truck, which was transporting cows to Lagos, crashed into it. The impact pushed the BRT off the road, causing damage to nearby shops and kiosks.
The truck has since been towed a short distance from the scene to avoid obstructing traffic.
