The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reinstated Chief Timipre Sylva as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Bayelsa Governorship election, scheduled for this Saturday. This decision comes after last week’s ruling by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Previously, an Abuja Federal High Court had disqualified Sylva from the race following a suit filed by Demesuoyefa Kolomo, a member of the APC in the state. INEC subsequently removed Sylva from the list of candidates. However, in an updated list published on its website on Monday, INEC has included Sylva’s particulars as the APC’s candidate for the election.
