Nearly 4.2 million Togolese voters are participating in legislative and regional elections. This double ballot, which has been postponed several times, takes place following the adoption of a new Constitution by outgoing deputies on April 19, transitioning Togo from a presidential to a parliamentary regime. By midday, there was not a significant turnout at polling stations in the capital.

Over 4 million Togolese citizens are casting their votes today to elect deputies and regional councilors. Voting operations have been underway for several hours.

By midday, there was not a significant turnout at polling stations in the capital. Some stations opened late, but things quickly returned to normal, and voting operations have been proceeding smoothly since then.

However, many voters arrived early. One individual mentioned arriving at the polling center at 5:45 am, eager to fulfill their civic duty quickly and return to their activities before coming back in the afternoon to observe the vote counting process.

Furthermore, some voters were unable to locate their polling stations at the designated locations, such as at the public primary school on Boulevard de la Paix, where they are still awaiting resolution of the issue.

A hotline (1010) has been established to assist individuals in identifying their polling stations if they are unsure, aiming to streamline the process and avoid long queues.

The day is declared a public holiday, with paid leave granted to ensure a serene voting environment.

Polling stations will close at 4:00 pm local time and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
