Chinese state media reported on Monday, citing China’s special envoy to the Middle East, that China sees the situation in Gaza as “extremely serious” with an increasing likelihood of a large-scale ground attack, and a “worrisome” outlook amid armed conflicts on multiple fronts along the border.

The envoy, Chai Jun, stated that China has provided and will continue to offer emergency humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians through the United Nations and bilateral channels to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis.

The Chinese television also reported that Chai stated that China is ready to do “everything it can” to promote dialogue, achieve a ceasefire, and restore peace, in addition to encouraging a two-state solution.
