The French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, announced that France has decided to allocate €5 million from the emergency fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support non-governmental organizations operating in Morocco, whether French or international, in their relief efforts for the victims of the Al Hoceima earthquake.

The French Minister of Foreign Affairs also stated that Morocco has not rejected the French offer but has not yet responded to it.

French President Emmanuel Macron had previously announced France’s readiness to send relief teams and provide necessary assistance to help Morocco in this natural disaster.

It is worth noting that the death toll from the earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday night has reached 2,497 deaths and 2,476 injuries as of Monday morning.
