The Federal Executive Council has unveiled a comprehensive three-year blueprint aimed at rejuvenating the economy and tackling the prevalent social and economic issues that are affecting the nation.

President Bola Tinubu, who presided over the inaugural cabinet meeting within the confines of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, took center stage in revealing his vision for a transformative journey marked by “economic growth, prosperity for all, and the eradication of poverty”.

Tinubu addressing the assembled ministers, set forth a resolute target, the accomplishment of the first phase of his administration’s ambitious eight-point agenda within a span of three years. He urged his cabinet members to pool their efforts and rally to resuscitate the nation’s economy, noting the challenging times Nigeria currently faces.

The President asserted the collective capacity of his cabinet to effect real change across their respective ministerial domains. He envisioned a “homegrown re-engineering of our finances” and a strategic stewardship of the nation’s resources, with the ultimate goal of putting the economy at the service of the Nigerian people.

“Though naysayers may doubt our ambitions, in the lexicon of our service, every goal is attainable and must indeed be achieved,” the President affirmed, exuding optimism and resolve to his ministerial team.

The President went on to underscore the long-term nature of their appointments, dismissing the notion of fixed-term roles. He instilled confidence that his carefully selected cabinet members comprehend the fresh perspective and mandate his administration brings to the table, characterized by a dedication to deliver for Nigeria with unwavering commitment, devoid of excuses or complacency.

Highlighting the vast talent and intellectual prowess within his team, President Tinubu articulated a clear path forward. He emphasized that their combined experience, skills, intellect, and networks will play a pivotal role in navigating the challenging times ahead.

In an unmistakable tone, the President stressed that the times ahead were demanding and that failure would not be brushed aside during his tenure. He urged his cabinet to forge a dynamic and robust economy that can effectively address the pressing issues of unemployment and the impacts of climate change.

“Policy implementation,” he asserted, “will usher in economic reform, foster inclusive growth, and fortify security for a peaceful and prosperous society. Without security, the foundation for investment crumbles.”

As the captain of this transformative journey, President Tinubu made it clear that he welcomed innovative problem-solving from his cabinet. He recognized his role as a listening leader, ready to collaborate and learn from his team’s collective expertise.

“With this monumental task at hand, I entrust the responsibility to you. I am here to listen and cooperate, and I am open to correction. Remember, only God is flawless,” he expressed.

Acknowledging the enormity of the challenges they face, President Tinubu depicted the situation as drawing water from an arid well. Nevertheless, he radiated confidence in the cabinet’s ability to deliver for the people of Nigeria. He characterized their commitment as a powerful dedication to the nation’s welfare, signifying their role as servants to all citizens, at all times.
