Investigation Underway After Fatal Mass Shooting at Hanover Park House

Cape Town police detectives are conducting a thorough investigation into a tragic incident that unfolded on Tuesday night, where an unidentified assailant opened fire on five women at a house in Hanover Park.

The attack resulted in the deaths of two women, while the remaining three victims were hospitalized with gunshot wounds. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and authorities are actively working to gather more information.

According to police spokesperson Frederick Van Wyk, the disturbing incident occurred when a grey VW Polo pulled up in front of the house, and a male suspect exited the vehicle before entering the premises. Multiple shots were fired, striking all five women inside the house.

Tragically, a 75-year-old victim lost her life at the scene, while a 60-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries after being shot in the chest. The three surviving women are currently receiving medical treatment.

As the investigation progresses, authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. At present, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. The community of Hanover Park is reeling from this act of violence, and the police are working diligently to apprehend the perpetrator and bring justice to the victims and their families.
