Morocco Elected President of the African Confederation of Digital Sports

The President of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Electronic Games, Hicham El Khlifi, was unanimously elected President of the African Confederation of Digital Sports (ACDS) on Monday in Casablanca, at the end of the constitutive General Assembly of this body, held with the participation of 40 countries. The creation of the ACDS marks an important step in Africa’s development in the field of digital sports.

The members of this confederation expressed their sincere gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Kingdom of Morocco for hosting this constituent general assembly, which is of major importance for the development of digital sports in Africa and the Kingdom’s contribution to the development of sports on the continent.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. El Khlifi affirmed that the ACDS will play an important role in the development and promotion of digital sports in Africa, a continent that is brimming with talent and young digital sports enthusiasts, he continued.

Thus, Mr. El Khlifi pointed out that the ACDS is the result of a shared determination to create a platform that will foster exchange and collaboration between the various stakeholders in digital sport in Africa and is committed to facilitating an open and transparent debate to develop the practice of digital sports on the continent.

For his part, the President of the Moroccan National Olympic Committee (CNOM), Fayçal Laraïchi, considered the creation of the ACDS as an important turning point in the exchanges between African countries and their youth, assuring that digital sports are expanding rapidly, with more and more people taking part.

This initiative aims to promote and develop the e-sports ecosystem in Africa by bringing together the national e-sports governing bodies of all African countries.

The purpose of the ACDS will be to work towards strengthening Africa’s presence in the field of digital sports and to offer new opportunities to African talent.
