Martin Fayulu has declared that he and his party will not participate in the election unless the current electoral roll is audited by an impartial, qualified, and international body. The government has responded to this announcement by stating that it will not comply with this demand.

Mr. Fayulu refuses to boycott the electoral process, recalling that the congress of his party had opted for participation in 2022. He threatens that he will not be a candidate if the ballot is not transparent, emphasizing that they are organized to ensure the people’s victory. He proclaims that he is a candidate for the real elections.

For its part, the government is not ready to give in to the opponent’s demands and recalls the constraints linked to time. “If we have to redo the file, we will redo the registration of voters. How will we do? We will have exceeded the deadlines, estimates Patrick Muyaya, a government spokesman. The electoral process will enter a decisive turning point from June 25th. The various candidates should rather prepare for this meeting and above all bring content.

Martin Fayulu has already stated that if anyone attempts to steal the people’s victory in the upcoming December elections, they will be refused. However, his stance is not shared by all the opposition, with Moïse Katumbi confirming that he will submit his candidacy and those of the members of his party.
