Solofan Wins the Grand Prize at the 11th Assa International Film and Sahara Festival

Yassine Rihani’s film “Solofan” won the Grand Prize at the Assa International Film and Sahara Festival, which closed on Sunday evening.

During the closing evening, the festival’s various prizes were awarded to the winners. The Grand Prize was awarded to the film “Solofan”, which was competing against 16 short films taking part in the festival, organized by the “Assa for Film and Theatre” Association under the banner “Cinema and Historical Memory”.

The prize for best screenplay went equally to “Yeza” by Omar Miyara and “Manchourates” by Rabab Kamghar, while the prize for best director went to Assif by Yassin Ait El Fakir.

Mohamed Ahd Bensouda, Nabiha Berni, and Mohamed Balghouate honored the festival’s closing ceremony, along with the Mouloudia Assa football team who were promoted to the first amateur division.

The festival was organized with the support of the Assa-Zag provincial council, the Moroccan Cinematographic Centre, and the province of Assa-Zag, and in partnership with the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces, the Guelmim-Oued Noun region and the commune of Assa.
