Minister Kaba Nialé invites Spanish Investors to Seize the Opportunities Offered by Ivory Coast

At the 2nd edition of the Multilateral Days in Ivory Coast held on Tuesday in Abidjan, the Minister of Planning and Development, Kaba Nialé, invited Spanish investors to seize the investment opportunities offered by Ivory Coast.

The Minister pointed out that “Ivory Coast is a multi-faceted country with great potential, and a destination of choice for forging solid partnerships while inviting Spanish investors to seize the investment opportunities offered by our country”.

Ms. Kaba promised that the Ivorian government also intends to strengthen its economic partnership with the Kingdom of Spain to ensure the effective implementation of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2021-2025, welcoming the healthy state of economic cooperation between the Ivory Coast and Spain.

The minister explained that Ivory Coast is currently Spain’s fourth-largest partner and fifth-largest supplier in sub-Saharan Africa. Spanish exports to Ivory Coast have diversified and increased by 32% between 2018 (220 million euros) and 2021 (291 million euros). In 2021, 526 Spanish companies were regularly exporting to Ivory Coast, 3% more than in 2020.

For his part, the Spanish ambassador to Ivory Coast, Rafaël Soriano Ortiz, welcomed the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, which testifies to the interest that each of them has in the other.
