The 2023 edition of the Africa CEO Forum opened on Monday in Abidjan under the theme “Succeeding despite the crises – From 300 to 3000: How to accelerate the emergence of the next generation of African champions”, with the participation of Morocco.

The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, leads a large delegation from Morocco to this annual Forum. The Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Chakib Alj, and the President of the National Museums Foundation, Mehdi Qotbi, accompany the Head of Government.

This two-day Forum brings together more than 1,800 African and international business leaders and public decision-makers, to meet the ambitious challenge of transforming the crisis into opportunities, sustainably and rapidly.

Participants in the Africa CEO Forum will have the opportunity to reflect on two major challenges that will enable the Continent to conquer its economic sovereignty in a context of crisis and accelerated global competition.

In this context, the Chairman of the Africa CEO Forum and CEO of Jeune Afrique Media Group, Amir Ben Yahmed, said that the persistence of the crisis highlights the need to build an economic environment conducive to the emergence of a new generation of African champions, symbols of resilience and innovation in fundamental sectors.

“We estimate that we need to increase the number of champions from the current 300 to 3,000 to truly transform the continent,” he added, stressing the need for private-public synergy.

President Alassane Ouattara and Ambassador Abdelmalek Kettani attended the opening ceremony in Abidjan.
