Following the tragic murder of David Tenywa Kazungu, the brother of the Bugiri district school inspector, significant progress has been made in the investigation. Samson Winyi Kazungu and Carol Ndibogeza have been apprehended on suspicion of involvement in the murder, joining the three initial suspects already in custody.

The alleged perpetrators contacted Kazungu’s family using his phone and provided them with directions to a partially constructed pit latrine where his body had been dumped. Disturbingly, the family discovered Kazungu’s decomposing remains at the designated location.

Earlier, Kazungu’s daughter had reported the case to Bugiri police after receiving ransom calls from unknown individuals using her father’s phone. They demanded a sum of Shs 20m for his release. According to regional police spokesperson Diana Nandawula, Kazungu was last seen alive on May 27th in the company of casual laborers on his farm in Nandelema village.

Of particular interest is Bernard Mulondo, who was found in possession of the deceased’s car key. Upon examining his phone records, it was discovered that he had made multiple calls to Musa Waiswa on the day Kazungu went missing.

Law enforcement authorities have begun their investigation and are determined to apprehend all those responsible for this heinous crime. The search for additional information continues, as the whereabouts of the group of casual laborers seen with Kazungu remain unknown.
