The International University of Rabat (UIR) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday, aiming to establish a Center of Excellence in Aeronautics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the UIR campus.

This collaboration is the result of a memorandum of understanding signed last November in Tel Aviv. The agreement to create the said Center was signed by UIR President Noureddine Mouaddib and Israel Aerospace Industries CEO Eytan Eshel, in a ceremony attended by the Minister of Industry and Commerce Ryad Mezzour, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation Abdellatif Miraoui, and the Chairman of the Board of IAI, Amir Peretz, along with several high-ranking officials and members of the UIR Board of Directors.

The purpose of this collaboration is to establish partnerships in applied research, innovation, and knowledge transfer in the fields of aeronautics, according to a joint statement by the signatory parties.
