The Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA, Mohamed Arrouchi, intervened on Wednesday during consultations between the AU Chairman, Azali Assoumani, and members of the PSC.

During this meeting, Mr. Arrouchi said that Morocco remains firmly committed to adopting a multidimensional approach to peace, security, and development to face the African continent’s multiple challenges.

In this context, the Moroccan diplomat stressed the importance of prevention and mediation to diagnose situations that could degenerate into violent conflict.

Thus, Mr. Arrouchi emphasized the need to adopt a multidimensional, operational, and action-oriented approach within the framework of the “Nexus-Projects”, by the Tangier Declaration, adopted at the level of AU Heads of State and Government.

Mr. Arrouchi also recalled the imperatives for joint African action to meet the aspirations of African citizens, which are the credibility of the intergovernmental process and appropriate administrative and financial governance within the AU Commission.
