Maritime links between the Comorian island of Anjouan and the island of Mayotte should resume on May 17th, 2023. This resumption only concerns people in a regular situation, voluntary departures, and goods, the Comorian authorities specified on May 15th. As for the fate of the people expelled from Mayotte as part of the “Wuambushu” operation, “these are questions that we will clarify with the French authorities”, assures the government spokesperson, Houmed Msaidié.

In Comoros, maritime links between Anjouan and Mayotte have resumed, the Comorian government announced on May 15th, 2023. A resumption that follows the signing, a week ago in Paris, of the joint press release with France on maritime rotations.

In the process, the company that manages the shuttles also announced the first boat on May 17, 2023, from Mayotte. For the Comorian government, this recovery only concerns people in a regular situation, voluntary departures, and goods.

As for the people turned back within the framework of the French operation Wuambushu, they still cannot return, underlines Houmed Msaidié, spokesperson for the government, at the microphone of our correspondent Abdallah Mzembaba.
