The Senegalese government reiterated on Wednesday its willingness to present its candidature to host the African Cup of Nations in 2027.

In this context, the Senegalese Prime Minister, Amadou Ba, newly appointed Minister of Sports said that the proposal of this bid is already validated by the President of the Republic, Macky Sall.

Moreover, the minister said that a study of the specifications for the organization of the CAN 2027 will be done in collaboration with the FSF, before submitting the bid proposal of Senegal.

Thus, Mr. Ba assured that the necessary diplomatic arrangements have been made to submit Senegal’s bid as soon as possible.

The new Minister of Sports added, during the handover ceremony, that it is time to organize an African Cup for a second time and to further improve the level of infrastructure and sports facilities in Senegal.

It should be recalled that on 27 April, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) published a list of countries that have expressed their desire to host the continental tournament in 2027, noting that it had received declarations of interest from six countries in this regard.
