At Ndjamena airport, Chadians Repatriated from Sudan Confide their Relief

As of April 28th, Chad has evacuated 221 of its nationals from Sudan, according to Agence France-Presse. Some of the 131 Chadians who arrived the day before.

The State provided the means for the 131 Chadians to board their first plane and arrive in Ndjamena at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27th. On board were a majority of women and children who were filled with emotion and joy on arrival. One of the arrivals said they did not find many difficulties getting there and another one expressed relief that they did not hear any shots.

The Minister of Gender and Solidarity, Amina Priscille Longoh, assures that they have made all arrangements to allow these Chadians to return in the best possible conditions and that they will provide support to enable them to return to host families. But for those who will not have family, we will make arrangements to receive them. And so, adequate care is already there, but also medical care because there are injuries. »

Security’s colleague, Mahamat Charfadine Margui, adds that they will quickly organize other repatriations.

They have set up an airlift from Port Sudan, and have planned three flights to return Chadian nationals, identified by the Chadian embassy in Khartoum, back to their country.
