The Chinese Embassy in Niger is organizing today the China-Niger Investment Forum at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Centre.

This forum is an opportunity for exchange and partnership between the economic partners of the two countries.

Within this framework, a delegation of Chinese businessmen has already arrived in Niamey and will be received in the audience by the President of the Republic of Niger Mohamed Bazoum.

This forum, organized with the support of the Nigerian government, is part of the measures taken at the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in October 2022.

It also aims to implement the conclusions of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (Focac), where the Chinese President and African leaders agreed on China-Africa cooperation based on a win-win partnership.

The China-Africa Business Council (CABC) is invited to this major economic event.

In the past 5 years, the CABC has sent missions to about 30 African countries, and organized or co-organized more than 400 Sino-African economic events.

This event would be an opportunity for Chinese actors to measure the development of Niger and explore the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The two countries already have strong relations on several levels. China is the leading investor in Niger. Several emblematic projects carried out by China include the General Seyni Kountché Stadium (SGSK), the two bridges over the Niger River, and the Niamey General Reference Hospital.

For instance, the Chinese company CNPC will be in charge of the construction of the Niger-Benin pipeline project which will transform Niger into an oil exporter.
