36th AU Summit

The Declaration of the AU Political Conference on the Promotion of the Link between Peace, Security, and Development in Africa entitled “Tangier Declaration” was adopted at the 36th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the 54 member countries of the African Union (AU).

The Summit of Heads of State and Government met on the 18th and 19th of February in Addis Ababa and on Wednesday endorsed The Pledge of Regional Integration, which was adopted in Tangier, Morocco in October 2022.

The AU Summit called on the AU Commission to implement the conclusions of this declaration while inviting the partners of the Tangier process to strengthen their support for projects relating to peace, security, and development.

It should be recalled that the Tangier Declaration was unanimously adopted by the AU Peace and Security Council and was submitted for consideration and adoption by the AU Summit at its 36th session.
