President Buhari Returns to Abuja After Umrah in Saudi Arabia

After an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, President Buhari returned to Abuja, the visit lasted for eight days and included performing the Umrah (Lesser Hajj) in Makkah. The Nigerian leader departed from Saudi Arabia through the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

At the airport, Saudi government officials, Nigerian traditional and spiritual leaders, and senior staff of the Nigerian Embassy in the Kingdom gathered to say goodbye to President Buhari. Accompanied by members of his entourage and religious leaders from all six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, the President performed the Umrah rituals. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque led the delegation during the rites.

As part of his official visit, President Buhari launched visits to historical religious sites in Madinah and also extended hospitality by hosting an Iftar dinner in Makkah for esteemed traditional and religious leaders.

President Buhari engaged in meetings with religious and traditional leaders, where he fervently prayed for peace to prevail in the nation, the successful completion of his term, and the prosperity of the incoming administration. The President also visited the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during his trip.
